Description

Beautiful plants can and value to any property; but, often homeowners have questions about the proper way to achieve great looking, healthy plants in Georgia’s clay soil. Compost is one of the best amendments. The City of Alpharetta and the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission, are pleased to host a class taught by the North Fulton Master Gardeners. It will be offered on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.at the Alpharetta Public Works Department, 1790 Hembree Road, Alpharetta, Georgia.

Compost consists of partially decomposed organic matter that is essential for healthy soil but is normally missing in our red clay. Learn how you can create your own compost from commonly available materials and minimize waste. This class will cover the major steps involved, required ingredients, hot vs cold composting, various methods you can use and additional considerations. And, learn about Vermiculture compost.
