Ready to transform your kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich soil?</h3><h3><br></h3><h3><strong><strong>Why Compost?</strong></strong> Did you know that food scraps in landfills produce methane, a potent greenhouse gas? By composting, you keep organic matter out of the trash and create a free, organic fertilizer that makes plants more resilient.</h3><h3><br></h3><h3><strong><strong>What You’ll Learn:</strong></strong></h3><ul><li><strong><strong>The Basic Science of Composting:</strong></strong> Understanding the balance of "greens" (nitrogen) and "browns" (carbon).</li><li><strong><strong>Troubleshooting:</strong></strong> How to prevent odors and keep pests away.</li></ul><p><strong><strong>After the classroom instruction we will go out into our garden and look at our bins and add more materials to them so you can see what it takes to do the work of composting.</strong></strong></p>
