Overview

Discover the basics of backyard composting and learn practical techniques to turn household and yard waste into nutrient-rich compost.

Learn the fundamentals of backyard composting in this hands-on Extension workshop. Participants will explore how composting works, what materials can and cannot be composted, and simple methods for creating healthy compost at home. Whether you want to reduce household waste, improve your garden soil, or build more sustainable habits, this class will provide practical knowledge and easy-to-follow techniques to help you get started confidently. This class will be taught by Calvin Gardner, an Extension Agent in Orange County, FL.
