ABOUT -
Make Compost, Not Trash is a community outreach and education campaign to help increase the number of NYC residents that divert their food scraps, yard waste, and food soiled paper away from landfills via DSNY's Curbside Composting Program, Drop-off Composting Sites, Backyard and At-Home Composting, or Community Composting Sites.
Big Reuse protects the environment and conserves natural resources by salvaging building materials and home goods to be reintroduced to the local market, diverting organic material from landfills to produce compost at our neighborhood sites, conducting community outreach to thousands of individuals to increase awareness about NYC’s Curbside Composting program, and by providing green job training and internships to individuals from low-income communities in New York City.
