Compost Bundle Dyeing
Learn how to give stained or unwanted textiles new life by using pantry items and food scraps as natural and nontoxic dyes.
Don't let those flowers and food scraps go to waste! Use them to create color and dye fabric naturally before sending them to the compost pile. Join the LES Ecology Center for a hands-on workshop and learn how to bundle dye using flowers and food waste.
Beyond the basics of bundle dyeing, we'll also explore the impacts of food and textile waste. Participants will leave with their very own bundle dyed handkerchief. This workshop is best suited for adults.
All materials are provided but feel free to bring your own dried or wilting flower bouquet, colorful vegggie scraps, or other organic material you want to experiment with.
This workshop is part of our Reuse and Re-Imagine Series - A new series of workshops designed to empower our community with new skills while keeping waste out of landfills.
Funding provided by the Environmental Protection Fund as administered by NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
