About this event

  • 3 hours

You will be venturing to this scenic locale at a perfect time of year to walk away with lovely images of flowers blended in with winding walkways, charming wooden bridges and scenic landscape spreads as well as photographs of whimsical sculptures of various themes, sizes and colors, as you approach the Origami in the Garden display in the meadow. With fountains and streams in every direction you can practice your composition of waterscapes that channel Manet from the world of Impressionism. The themes at Minnesota Landscape Arboretum provide ideal subject matter to hone your skills in operating your Aperture Priority and Shutter Speed Priority, the former for highlighting flowers with crisp focus and blurred background and the latter the tricks to depict water as either a velvety smooth of liquid in a dreamlike manner or a split-second stop action version.

You will practice learning the benefits of a variety of class composition strategies to elevate snapshot photos into compelling images worthy of displays on your home or office. Learn the art of Leading Lines, Rule of Thirds, Panning, Negative Space, Layering and other composition tricks to get your camera to do what you want it to do!!

Entry fee- $15.00

Due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control we will be happy to work with you to reschedule or provide a refund. However, if you should need to cancel or require a new class date, contact us. A $25 transfer fee will be imposed without a 3 day notice before the scheduled class.

Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231 or a field agent at 917 597 7053. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number. It would be even better if you included your email address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering. If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at DPAbooking@digitalphotoacademy.com and include the date and city of the class you are considering, as well as your phone number .
