Complex Coordinated Attack Exercise

NOLA Ready is the City of New Orleans emergency preparedness campaign, managed by the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness.

<P CLASS="gdp"><SPAN>The New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is seeking 200 volunteers to participate in a full-scale exercise simulating a complex attack on a parade. </SPAN>Volunteers will be assigned various roles to play in the tactical exercise, including those who are wounded, deceased, or separated from family members. </P>
<P CLASS="gdp">Breakfast, lunch and free parking are included.</P>
<H2 CLASS="gdp">WHY THIS DRILL?</H2>
<P CLASS="gdp"><SPAN>This important drill will help New Orleans public safety agencies test emergency response plans in the event of an attack. For example, we'll test a hospital surge plan to triage and handle a mass casualty incident. We'll also test a family reunification plan to track and communicate with family members the status and location of people affected by an attack.</SPAN></P>
<H2 CLASS="gdp">VOLUNTEERS ARE ESSENTIAL.</H2>
<P><SPAN>Role-playing with <I>real people</I> allows emergency personnel to fully test our plans, policies, and response. Please consider volunteering to make this exercise successful and fruitful for public safety planning. </SPAN></P>
