<h3>Whether it is in the workplace or at home, communication with colleagues, friends, or loved ones sometimes provokes strong emotions and erroneous perceptions. Learning how to be objective and empathic when approaching conversations takes practice and understanding of emotional triggers. Based on the components of the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) model developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, this class offers insight into understanding needs and feelings and growing our emotion vocabulary. Participants will have opportunities to practice communication skills and empathy.
</h3>Class Instructor: Bob Mark, Upper Valley MEND
Bob has been involved with the model of nonviolent communication since the fall of 2000. In October 2019, he presented a community education workshop on nonviolent communication. Bob is pleased to offer another opportunity for community members to learn about this model of communication with the goal of creating a more peaceful and cooperative world.
Registration fee supports the Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serving Chelan and Douglas counties and dedicated to changing relationships through peaceful conflict resolution.
