Louisiana Comp Blog is the result of a void in the workers’ compensation industry. Despite the importance of workers’ comp to Louisiana’s economic growth and the health and vitality of our workforce, dedicated reporting on industry developments, key legal and medical issues, and regulatory concerns remains scattered and often difficult to access. Louisiana Comp Blog aims to provide a solution to that coverage problem by publishing current, compelling news pieces for workers’ comp professionals in our great state.

Comp in Focus is a bimonthly industry speaker luncheon hosted by <A HREF="http://compblog.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Louisiana Comp Blog</A>. Each event features a different "hot button" issue and an expert speaker to discuss and debate it with attendees from both sides of the aisle.
The next event will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018, at <A HREF="http://casaborrega.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Casa Borrega </A>in New Orleans.
This time, <A HREF="http://compblog.com/editorial-hubachek-on-a-21st-century-solution-to-the-opioid-crisis-pt-2/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Greg Hubachek</A>, local claimant attorney with <A HREF="http://workerscompllc.net/contact/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Workers' Compensation LLC</A>, will discuss the progress Louisiana has made in tackling the opioid crisis and what remains to be done. 
How does Louisiana workers' comp fit into the national opioid abuse problem? Have state initiatives to limit prescriptions and train doctors made a dent in the issue? Does the state's lawsuit against opioid manufacturers have a shot?
