Join Art Muse LA with Clare Kunny and Maggie Harrington at the Skirball Cultural Center for a day of art and community. This summer, the Skirball presents a series of three intimate art exhibitions celebrating the diversity and the strength of our collective spirit. We begin in Frank Stella: Had Gadya where the late American artist celebrated the power of traditional Jewish storytelling in the series of lithographs by Russian Jewish modern artist El Lissitzky (1890-1941) that illustrate the verses of "Had Gadya." Lunch in Zeidlers Café will center around a conversation about the Skirball’s newly acquired work Common Ground by Adam Silverman. Background on the multi-year project and insights about the ceramic medium will be explored.

The day concludes with a consideration of Yinka Shonibare’s The American Library, an imaginative portrait of a diverse nation. In this dazzling installation more than six thousand books are individually wrapped in Dutch wax-printed cotton textiles. Each book bears a name on its spine of a notable American individual affected by immigration.
