Communities Summit

Councillor David McDonald on behalf of Glasgow City Council is hosting a Communities Summit in the City Chambers on Wednesday16th August from 18:00 to 20:30.

The Summit will explore:

• Devolving power in order to shape empowerment policy and ensure communities make the most of the new opportunities available to them.
• Building community capacity and working in partnership to create stronger, more equal communities.
• Empowering communities and developing more inclusive decision making.

This will be achieved through a number of workshops and speakers covering a range of topics from the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act, Participatory Budgeting, Asset Transfer, and Neighbourhood Renewal.

The summit will also showcase a number of Glasgow’s thriving community groups and highlight the positive impact that community groups and organisations contribute to our city.

Light refreshments will be provided at the event.
