About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

An addition to Ipswich Poetry Group's monthly open mic, this free workshop will bring together poets of all experiences to create new work and build community.

We'll write from 3-5pm at Gathr (42 Market Street in Ipswich) then swing next door to Zumi's (40 Market Street) for a coffeehouse open mic from 5-6pm! Generous breaks and time for connection are built into the workshop session.

Maxine Hong Kingston said, "in a time of destruction, create something." Doris Lessing said, "We've got to believe in our beautiful, impossible blueprints". These workshops are meant to feed that belief while honing our craft.

What do you value, and how does it show up in your work? What will help you carry that forward? In this workshop series, you are invited to add new tools to your artistic toolkit and share your work and your experiences with others. Whether you've been writing for years or you feel you're only just beginning on your journey, this is a space for you.
