The Community Philosophy Circle seeks to spark discussion about life’s biggest questions. We come together to explore the human experience, share ideas, and connect. Simply put—it’s a space for ideas!

We are honored to launch the Symposium Speaker Series with featured speaker Dr. Jamie Phillips, Professor of Philosophy at PennWest Clarion.

WHAT TO EXPECT? SPEAKER EVENT!

The talk will explore Aristotelian ethics and the theory of the meaning of life through the lens of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics.

-Doors open at 6:30 PM for a light reception

-45-minute talk by Dr. Phillips begins at 7:00 PM

-Followed by open Q&A -Optional: Post-event conversation with others

FEATURED SPEAKER: DR. JAMIE PHILLIPS

Dr. Jamie Phillips, Professor of Philosophy at PennWest Clarion, has taught there for 26 years. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Phillips served primarily as an intelligence analyst for the National Security Agency before earning his PhD with honors in Philosophy from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 1999.

He is an active member of the American Philosophical Association’s Committee on Public Philosophy and an advocate for using social media to make philosophy accessible and to show how its insights might better resolve challenges of the modern world. ___________________________________________
