About this event

  • 2 hours

Rogue Forest Partners and our Jacksonville collaborators invite you to tour the recently completed ecological thinning in the Jacksonville Woodlands as part of the Jacksonville Community Wildfire Protection Project. We’ll also share progress on the larger West Bear All-Lands Restoration Project, which spans 27,000 acres of the wildland urban interface west of Bear Creek and I-5, including Talent, Phoenix, southwest Medford, and Jacksonville.

Enjoy beautiful wildflower blooms and learn how diverse community partners are working together across federal, municipal, and private lands to improve forest health and reduce the risk of severe wildfires to the ecosystem and communities. The field tour will present an excellent opportunity to learn about ongoing active forest stewardship, including upcoming prescribed fire opportunities this spring.

Please note: The field tour includes walking up to 2 miles and sections of uneven terrain. Please be sure to come prepared with appropriate footwear.
