About this event

This is a great opportunity to experience what our Nursery and Bushcare volunteers do at their regular working bees. It is a wonderful chance to ask questions and put in an expression of interest to become a volunteer for the Community Environment Program.

These events are 18+ only. All events run from 8-9am. Attendees must be present at 8:00am for a mandatory safety briefing.

What to bring: Sunsafe clothing, insect repellent, enclosed shoes and water.

Tuesday May 20 - Community Nursery (Urangan)

  • Meet at the entrance along the Dayman Street walking path behind the Urangan Community Wellness Centre.
  • Parking available at the Botanic Gardens carpark and along Elizabeth Street.

Wednesday May 21 - Fay Smith Wetlands (Maryborough)

  • Meet at the entrance along Neptune Street.
  • Diagonal parking available along Neptune Street between Shumack Drive and Woodstock Street.

Thursday May 22 - Bun'Gan Dhu Reserve (Toogoom)

  • Meet at park entrance along Shellcot Street.
  • Limited on-street parking available along Shellcot Street and a small parking lot at the end of Jeppesen Road. Walking is recommended if you live nearby due to limited parking.

Friday May 23 - Botanic Gardens Bushcare (Urangan)

  • Meet at the entrance along the Dayman Street walking path behind the Urangan Community Wellness Centre.
  • Parking available at the Botanic Gardens carpark and along Elizabeth Street.

Saturday May 24 - Arkarra Lagoons (Dundowran)

  • Meet at the entrance on Panorama Drive.
  • Parking available in the grass area along Panorama Drive.

Sunday May 25 - Parraweena Park (Point Vernon)

  • Meet at the entrance to Poona Reserve.
  • Parking available along the Esplanade between Spence Street and Katandra Street.
