About this event

Bring your little ones and join us in the heart of the farm! You'll learn a fresh recipe amidst a vibrant group of individuals. The meals are intimately connected to our weekly garden yield, offering you an immersive experience in understanding the seasonal rhythm of growing and cooking food. We're all about teamwork here, and you'll be knee-deep in the action! You'll get to pick your own veggies for the meal, with our friendly farm hands showing you the ropes. Then, it's off to the washstation to get them clean and ready. Our chefs can't wait to show you how to whip up a tasty dish in our kitchen. As the day concludes, we'll relish our hard-earned meal, watching the sun dip below the picturesque SunnySlope valley. It's a perfect night to share with your little ones! Our aspiration goes beyond serving a delightful meal; we aim to provide an educational experience, nurturing inquisitive minds with a farm-to-fork journey. The sheer joy of little hands getting involved in gardening can create an enchanting atmosphere.  We will share invaluable farming and gardening insights, novel recipes, and innovative ways to use vegetables that may be unfamiliar to you. We're eager to present an alternative lens to view these meals; a transformative journey that reveals the beautiful dance of farming and cooking through changing seasons.

Our community meals are our way of saying thanks to Mother Earth and the community she helps us build. We can't wait to share this fun day with you!

Sincerely, The Peaceful Belly Farm Crew!

Here are some things to keep in mind before the event:

  • This event is created with children in mind

This year, our hearts are warmed by a generous grant that will allow us to transform our community garden into a wonderland for children. We're thrilled to have the opportunity to cultivate the seeds of love for farming in the hearts of our youngest community members.

  • No Dogs Please!

We have sensitive livestock that love interacting with visitors, and they must have a safe space to socialize in.

  • Show up at 6 pm
  • We will be harvesting fresh food from our garden for the dish and preparing the meal in our kitchen so come prepared for harvest

As it gets increasingly warmer during the evenings, it is important to dress appropriately for harvest. This includes sun protection, breathable clothes, sturdy footwear, and whatever else you will need to stay comfortable while gathering produce from the garden/field.

However, if you are, for any reason, unable to participate in either the harvest or the meal prep, that is absolutely fine! There will be plenty of space to take in the view, socialize, and unwind surrounded by pollinators and newly bloomed flowers.

  • We will be eating around 7:30 pm
  • There will be a $5 Signup fee

We're introducing a nominal signup fee to ensure that people who register for our meal are truly excited to join us, as we have limited seating. With only 30 seats available for each dinner, we want to make certain that those genuinely interested get a chance to be part of this delightful experience!

  • Please sign up EVERY person attending the meal

We'd love to know how many of you are planning to join us for the meal. This will help us ensure everything is perfectly prepared. No need to sign up your little ones aged 4 and under, they're always welcome!

The meal experience is all free!... Except for alcohol.

We have a selection of Stack Rock hard cider and Sunny Slope wines that are available to be enjoyed before and during dinner.

  • Please let us know if you will be unable to make it

If you can't make it, we have a waiting list of people who would love to enjoy the community dinner. So please give us a 24-hour notice so we can fill the spot!

Looking forward to meeting you all and enjoying a wonderful community meal together!

Cheers!
