Community Creative Workshop

Join Hued Songs at the African American Research Library & Cultural Center for an interactive creative workshop led by a featured teaching artist. Each session invites participants into a unique artistic practice that encourages exploration, creative expression, and meaningful connection through hands-on making, movement, storytelling, music, or other creative forms.

As part of Hued Songs' year-long residency, these workshops explore how creativity can deepen our relationship to ourselves, one another, and the world around us. Rooted in the themes of freedom, belonging, and collective imagination, every gathering offers an opportunity to learn from accomplished artists, engage with new ideas, and leave with both a creative artifact and a renewed sense of possibility.

No prior experience is necessary—only curiosity and a willingness to create in community.

Every month we curate a creative placemaking workshop featuring artists within our ecosystem who will guide participants to engage with history and artistic expression in meaningful, interactive ways.

Expect to explore and activate YOUR creativity through; writing, movement, sound, instrumentation and visual artistic mediums to be activated.
