Residents of rural communities are invited to be part of a community conversation about substance use disorder and stigma.

Free community events in Coos Bay May 13th & May 14th, 2025 bringing people together to talk. Topics include stigma in our communities, how we support people with substance use disorder and their families, and how to work together on reducing stigma. These interactive discussions will be facilitated by Tedra Cobb, a consultant with the University of Rochester Medicine Recovery Center of Excellence.

Attending the May 13th event at the Coos Bay Public Library will make you eligible for the

Train the Trainer event on May 14th at Coos Health & Wellness. During the May 14th Train the Trainer workshop, participants will learn how to lead ongoing discussions about stigma in their communities.

Train the Trainer*

· Wednesday May 14th from 9:00am – 12:00pm Coos Health & Wellness 281 LaClair St. Coos Bay in the Coquille Point Meeting Room.

*This session aims to train a group of facilitators focused on continuing these conversations. Participants must attend the May 13th community conversation before attending train-the-trainer.
