Community Breathwork & Sound Bath

Our goal at Azalea Jane Salon is to foster a space for beauty, art, and right relationships. One of our regular, donation based community offerings is a community breathwork - soundbath circle.

Joining beauty+ wellness together in a warm, accessible environment, breathwork and sound can help you release stress, promote self-discovery, and restore balance to your mind, body, and soul. This active mediatation process is popular amongst both athletes and mystics harnessing the physiological and mystical benefits of mindful breathing for bringing balance to the body at every level.

During this in-person event, you'll be guided through gentle breathing exercises that will help you connect with your inner self and find a sense of calm and clarity. The soothing sounds of various instruments like crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes will further enhance your experience, allowing you to enter a state of deep relaxation.

No prior experience is necessary to participate in this event. Just come as you are, with an open mind and a willingness to let go. Whether you're seeking stress relief, emotional healing, or simply a moment of tranquility, our community breathwork and sound bath event is the perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with like-minded individuals in a relaxed setting.

Mediatation blankets will be provided. Please bring yoga mat/extra blanket, journal, water bottle as well as an eye cover and anything else you may need to support your expereince.

Frequently asked questions

What if I don’t know how to meditate?

Meditation is a practice of coming to present awareness. It's a practice, and there is no wrong way to do it. for some folks, still-and-silent mediations are challenging. Sometimes an active practice like breathwork can give busy minds a focus and offer an experience of body peace.

I have a medical condition. Is this safe?

While folks of all age and shape (including pregnant women) practice breathwork, we recommend that you check in with your mental health and/or medical professional regarding possible consequences of an active somatic process which can bring about elevated heart rate and intense emotions.

Do I have to be spiritual to do this practice?

Some will use this practice in service of spiritual connection and growth; breathwork is a part of many cross cultural spiritual tradition. However, we do not apply, ascribe, or require any particular religious affiliation to this work. That said, for some, it is an entirely physical experience.

What are the benefits of breathwork?

How long and how often should I do breathwork?

A full breathwork session may be 30mins-3hrs in length, depending on the style. Our circles will involve roughly 40-50 minutes of breathing. Frequency can vary depending on purpose. We offer these circles twice a month, and A daily practice of 5-10 minutes can be beneficial as regular self-care.
