THIS IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT HELD IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA [EXACT LOCATION TO BE ANNOUNCED]

Learn skills to support pregnant women and persons, provide support during labor and birth and help new parents care for their newborns.

Help prevent maternal mortality and infant mortality. This training meets all the requirements of the State of California Medi-Caid eligibility for doulas working in California with Medi-Cal recipients.

Join us for an exciting in-person event, the Community Birth Doula Training & Certification Program. This program is designed to empower individuals who are passionate about supporting families during childbirth.

During this comprehensive training, you will learn essential skills and knowledge to become a certified birth doula. Our experienced instructors will guide you through various topics such as prenatal care, labor support techniques, postpartum care, breastfeeding support, and much more.

Whether you are already working in the birth field or starting a new career, this program will equip you with the necessary tools to make a positive impact.

Materials

PowerPoint and 350-page Student Manual and Study Guide will be provided after registration. For virtual classes, Manual, Study Guide and PowerPoint are in a downloadable PDF format. There will be an additional charge of $50 per person + shipping and handling if paper materials are requested. For in-person classes, a hard copy of the Student Manual will be provided. Students should bring a laptop or tablet to class for viewing class materials.


Tuition

Regular: $1000.00 is the full tuition rate per person. WE DO NOT OFFER INVOICING FOR INDIVIDUALS.


Early Bird Rate: There is an early-bird rate of $850.00 per person. Early bird rates begin 3 months prior to the course and end 1 month prior to the course.


Group Registration: There is a group discount (4 or more people registering together) of $850.00 per person. This is deal for agencies who would like this course as a staff in-service, or for 4 friends registering together. Payment Plans: $100.00 required at registration. Contact Training@motherbabysupport.net or call (626) 388-2191 ext. 3 to apply and make payment arrangements. We must have a written and signed payment agreement from you. If you fail to make payment in full by deadline (May 28) you will forfeit your deposit. You may make payments per the signed agreement by entering the amount you wish to pay under "payment plans". IF YOU DO NOT MAKE ALL THE PAYMENTS BY MAY 28, YOU WILL BE UNENROLLED FROM THE COURSE, AND YOUR PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.


Student Discounts: $750.00 per person. We offer student discounts for student midwives, nurses, physicians, and public health students. Proof of student status should be emailed to: Training@motherbabysupport.net.

Two for One: Get two tickets for the price of one when you purchase two tickets with a friend. Each pays $500 per ticket. While spaces last!

Bundle Two: When you register for the Postpartum Doula Training along with the Community Doula Training, receive $500 off your ticket price for each course.

Scholarships: Scholarships are available for low-income BIPOC persons who can commit to working with HMHBA as a volunteer while obtaining three births for certification over a period of one year. After certification, candidates will be qualified for employment with HMHBA. This is available through application and interview only. Are children allowed at this event?

Babies under age 6 months are allowed. Breastfeeding mothers welcome. No babies who are crawling or walking are permitted due to the distraction they may pose.

Happy Mama Healthy Baby Alliance was founded in 2020.  HMHBA is a community-based, non-governmental organization located in Los Angeles, California, USA. We are  501 (c) (3) non-profit public charity 509 (a) (2), our IRS name is Wholistic Midwifery School of Southern California, founded in 1993.

 

We are multidisciplinary perinatal and mental health professionals united in a common vision to promote maternal and infant health, improve maternity care quality and access, reduce perinatal health disparities and achieve social justice in maternal and infant health for all childbearing families.

 

Our board of directors, advisory committee and consultants are mental and perinatal health experts with training and expertise in Doula Support,  midwifery,  nursing, pre and perinatal psychology, social work, psychiatry,  obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, preventative care, global public health, and health education and promotion.

To promote high-quality, family-centered, evidence-based, respectful maternity and newborn care, and improved health outcomes for all childbearing persons and their babies.

Our work focuses on addressing health care disparities and to engendering birthing justice for all pregnant women, persons and their infants.   As ethnically diverse, multidisciplinary professionals serving pregnant and parenting families,  we offer Doula services, childbirth preparation classes, breastfeeding support, and maternal- infant mental health workshops and support groups and opportunities for continuing education for professionals.

 

We also offer professional training, certification, learning and networking opportunities for mental health providers and social service and health professionals working with Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health populations.

As advocates for families and babies, we seek to ensure that all childbearing persons are treated with dignity and respect during the pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum periods.We promote a self-growth approach to pregnancy; which is a special and unique time in a woman’s and a person’s life.

We believe each pregnant woman or person should be surrounded by a loving and supportive community and each baby should be born into the hands of skilled, compassionate and respectful caregivers.

We protect the Mother/Baby dyad whose needs are mutually dependent.

We are reverent of the sacred nature of birth and are inspired by its potential to transform women, relationships, families, and communities.

We strive to improve birth outcomes for women and infants where perinatal health disparities and inequities exist.

We aim to improve the quality of maternity and newborn care in all settings.We are dedicated to helping families have empowering, satisfying and joyous experiences from conception through gestation, childbirth, and early parenthood.
