Meet our Moderator:Crystal I. Berger is a communications professional with extensive experience across consumer industries, media, sports, and nonprofits. Crystal began her career in media in Baltimore as a sports intern with CBS affiliate, WJZ Channel 13, and went on to work as a national feature reporter, podcast host and senior booking producer for FOX News Channel. Her advisory experience includes strategic media placements, brand messaging, image enhancement and broadcast/digital content strategy. Crystal has advised clients, including: The JR Smith Foundation in partnership with Porsche of New York; The Chris Samuels Foundation, Chris Samuels of the Washington Redskins; C Moore Speaks, Carla Moore, Forbes Author, Former VP of Sales Strategy, HBO; VinoPRO, Inc., CEO &amp; Founder Jeff Stevenson; Tommy Polley Foundation, Tommy Polley Super Bowl Champion, Saint Louis Rams; and Profit for Haiti, LaRon Profit, Los Angeles Lakers.Crystal is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the Association of Women in Sports Media, and Christian Women in Media and served as a corporate representative for FOX News' Diversity in Media Initiative from 2013-2016. Her accolades include winning the NAACP Freedom Fighter Award for her work in journalism &amp; the community and being a Social Media Ambassador for the United Nations Foundation. She has also been a panelist at the Congressional Black Caucus’s Annual Legislative Conference, Diversity in Media and Film. Crystal currently hosts Counter Culture, a virtual podcast that was birthed out of Crystal's own story of being the only black woman in her newsroom; and how that experience prompted her to create spaces (and even a technology) to break barriers to entry in media. Crystal attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas, is a proud HBCU graduate and a Certified Image Consultant with IAP Career College. Prior to her career in communications and media, Crystal was a high school English teacher, mentor and co- founder of a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the number of women and girls impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic regionally. In her free time, Crystal enjoys laughing, traveling, and inspiring others to live life with purpose.

Roman Oben is the Vice President of Football Development for the <a href="https://www.nfl.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NFL</a>; he joined the corporation in 2015 as the NFL’s Director of Youth &amp; High School football. Oben’s professional football career began as an offensive tackle with the New York Giants in 1996 and continued in Cleveland playing for the Browns. In 2002, he helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers capture their first championship in Super Bowl XXXVII. Oben has an extensive media career covering the Giants on MSG, My9, and NBC as well as serving as a panelist on several MSNBC shows discussing sports and their larger societal impact. Oben is a leader and advocate for youth sports enrichment, receiving countless awards for community service both as an NFL player and off the field. Ray Pellecchia has served as the Senior Director of Strategic Communications with FINRA since 2015 and he is committed to speaking about the intersection of diversity, inclusion, and communication. Before joining <a href="https://www.finra.org/#/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">FINRA</a>, Pellecchia served in several communications leadership roles during his 25-year tenure at the New York Stock Exchange, including creating the exchange industry’s first public blog. He has been a member of FINRA’s Diversity Leadership Council since 2017, and spent 13 years on the NYSE Diversity Council, first as a founding member and later as chairman. Pellecchia believes that diversity and inclusion should be an essential part of everyone’s day job. Carmella Glover is President of the Diversity Action Alliance and the Director of DE&amp;I at Page. In her Page role, she provides strategic direction for member and staff DE&amp;I initiatives. In partnership with the DAA Board, she oversees the operations, programs, budget, and strategic plan of the Diversity Action Alliance (DAA). The DAA is a cross-industry coalition led by communications trade organizations with a mission of accelerating progress in meaningful and tangible achievement in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field for people of color. Before she transitioned to Page, Carmella was the first-ever Executive Director of the PRSA Foundation. She oversaw budget, compliance, programs, and operations for the charitable arm of the PRSA – also focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Glover brings over ten years of corporate experience from L’Oréal USA, Procter &amp; Gamble, and Johnson &amp; Johnson. Before transitioning into Diversity Communications, Glover was a subject matter expert in supply chain and manufacturing operations. She was designing the organizational strategy for and leading a team of supply chain managers at L’Oréal U.S.A. Glover was accountable for the successful launch of luxury skincare products netting $100+ million in new sales annually, which required close partnership with Marketing and PR business partners. These cross-functional partnerships would be the impetus to her transition into communications. Other operations in her purview included internal communications, intranet newsletters, blog posts, and occasional media relations. Being the only female engineer and often the only Black leader in a room of decision-makers, Glover quickly discovered the synergy between her skill and purpose. In May of 2019, Glover was the recipient of the Logos Institute Rising Leader Award and a keynote speaker at the New York University School of Professional Studies May 2019 commencement. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from New York University. Glover is an active member of Newark’s Beta Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, wherein she exercises her zeal for philanthropy. She resides in North Jersey with her husband and daughter.
