Common Goodness Training held at the Funhouse CommonsSession 1, 10:30 am-12:00 pm: Page, an expert in LGBTQ+ youth, will offer an introductory conversation on supporting LGBTQ+ youth. She will share the latest findings regarding the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ youth, help us feel more comfortable with LGBTQ+ language and ideas, and hold space where everyone is invited to share ideas, concerns, and hope.12:00-1:00: Lunch break, lunch generously provided by Island MarketSession 2, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm: During the second portion of our day, Page will hold a conversation about how each of us can be a better advocate for the LGBTQ+ in our life and community. Guided by a trauma-informed approach she will offer guidance on preparing young people to be their own advocate, talking with resistant adults using nonviolent communication strategies, and how to ground ourselves in our values as we step out to support LGBTQ+ youth.CEUs available if needed.
