How do I get to this event?

UCLA is well-served by major public transit, and ample on-campus parking is available on weekends if you self-drive, typically for $15 or less for all day.

Question 2

I'm a big fan of Howard and Mark. Can I get an autograph?

Accepted Answer

YES. At the end of the event from 3:30-4:30, we will set up a line, and each attendee can get one autograph each from Howard and Mark if you wish. You can bring your own book, or additional books will be for sale at the event.

What kind of books will be for sale?

The Comic Bug of Manhattan Beach and Culver City will have a  table with a limited number of books authored by Chaykin or Waid, along with some tutorial books and supllies.

Question 4

What is Chaykin's "Paradigm?"

Accepted Answer

His tutorial that deals with the landscape of the comic page. In his words, "We take deep look at the comic page itself, identifying the representation of time with space, and of pictures endowed with narrative value.  Via this discussion, we move through through what is done, to the WHY."
