Come & Try Wheel Throwing Workshop

Overview

Experience beginners wheel throwing in this two-part workshop on Fri 12 June 6-8pm and trimming on Friday 19 June 6-8pm.

Overview of two-part wheel throwing workshop.

Friday 12 June - participants will be guided through essential techniques including clay preparation, centering, opening, pulling walls and removing a vessel from the wheel.

Friday 19 June (1 week later) - covers trimming your pieces ready for firing. Other topics covered include signing your work, slop buckets, how best to clean your wheel, firing process, glaze choices and choosing your best 2 pieces for firing and glazing. Collection of finished work will be discussed on this evening.

What to bring: Apron or wear comfortable old clothes, old towel, water bottle, short or trimmed nails.

Taught by: Johanna Wiggers who is a member of NQPA and an experienced wheel thrower.

Please note: Should a workshop be cancelled due to lack of participants your payment will be refunded
