About this event
IMPORTANT UPDATE: We shifted the date of the event to June 7, 11-3pm due to the OG date conflicting with Memorial Day weekend. For optimal accessibility, parking, and for permit permission to avoid being shut down/displaced, we have changed the date of the event which will in turn provide us more space, flexibility, and calmness.
We are truly excited to share with you this communal effort and guided creative meditation to welcome the summer. Our hope is that individuals of all gender identities, sizes, and backgrounds know that they are welcome at this and all our events but particularly this one as we aim to have a conversation and exercise surrounding body image and our relationship and responsibility to the beach as creatives.
Join us for yoga to set the tone and get our bodies moving. A meal to energize us and to have a conversation around food, shame, and self image. And to close things out, a creative group activity to expand how we view beach portraits and how we can best see one another in this setting.
The proceeds from your ticket help pay the artists bringing this event together. 20% of the remaining proceeds will be donated to Surfrider, a ocean conservation initiative with a emphasis on beach accessibility.
Frequently asked questions
We are much or as little as you're comfortable with. Our focus is to teach and to learn how to capture one another in the essence of who we are and focus less on how we look.
The yoga portion of the event will be very beginner friendly. It's more of a way to get our bodies moving and get out of our own heads, than it is about doing it perfectly or being a pro.
We recommend a reflector to help shoot with the moving sunlight. A rag for keeping your equipment dry and any camera will do! you do not need to be a professional. Keep your belongings to a minimal to keep our oceans clean, beaches tidy, and environment better than we found them.
Water, towel, sunscreen!
There will be some props provided! If you decide to bring any, please keep them also to a minimum and eco friendly. We're trying to be a litter and plastic free event. Fruits, flowers, dried plants are great!
