A day-long workshop exploring making colour from Birch trees for textiles and paper.

BIRCH WORKSHOPThis workshop is an exploration of colour from Birch trees. Working with leaves and bark, we will achieve a range of colours as dye on fibres and fabric, and as inks on paper.Facilitated by Hollie Kearns and Michelle McMahon.Colour Field is an artists’ garden at Workhouse Union connected to PrintBlock Callan, which is being cultivated to support colour-giving plants.The seasonal programme aims to nurture a creative community of artists, craftspeople and creative practitioners around the garden and outdoor dye kitchen – to foster our relationships to the world through making.All materials provided. No prior experience needed.Once you have booked the workshop, you will receive an email detailing what to expect and what to bring.
