About this event

Welcome to all those who identify as Black, Indigenous, Asian, Brown, and any other POC who are nonmonogamous, polyamorous, or any other kind of relationshipping outside of monogamy. This space is open to those who are just beginning their exploration as well.

We will have conversations that are specific to our community and how this may affect us differently. There is not enough space for how we navigate these relationships so let's create one together.

More about Javonna:

My name is Javonna Arriaga and I was born on Turtle Island. My pronouns are she/her/ella and I am CIS-gendered, able-bodied, pansexual, and a relationship anarchist.

My ancestors are from Abya Yala and I come from a lineage of the Moche and Chiriqui peoples. I am the daughter of Heather Miramontes Garcia, the daughter of Oscar Arriaga, Afro-Peruvian, and Marcia Bishop, European American. I am the daughter of Gerardo Perez, and I honor my father's Panamanian lineage.

I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern in FL and Associate LMFT in WA with a focus on community healing, group therapy, LGBTQIA+ couples, and “non-traditional” couples and families such as same-sex, multicultural, polyamorous, and kink.

I am here to hold space for you in any and all of your forms, to reconnect with your community and yourself, to create a container for you to embody the truest versions of who you are and not who you want the world to see you as. I do this through the use of modalities such as Solution-Focused, Narrative, Bowen Family System, and Trauma-Informed models in my healing work with a focus on Decolonial and Indigenous frameworks.

Disclaimer: This group is not a therapy group but a community group. Javonna will use her knowledge to support and guide the group but this group however this is not a therapeutic intervention group.
