Colonial Dance Lessons

The Heritage Trail Association, Inc. was formed in 1994 by creative patriotic people who had a vision of keeping Somerset County history and historic places alive and exposed to the public at large.Now in its 29th year, HTA provides originally written narrated bus tours, monthly speakers and many other events throughout the year. Headquartered at the Historic Philip Van Horne House,allows HTA to offer rental space to community groupsas well as the ability to turn the house into any time period, including dances, plays, speakers, and much more.If you are interested in American History, talk to us about volunteering with us!  We are a totally volunteer organization.The Historic Philip Van Horne House was built in 1750 and was the home of the Van Horne's who welcomed British and Americans equally.  The Van Horne house, also known as Convivial Hill, hosted Lord Cornwallis, Captain Ewald, General Lincoln, General Greene, Lord Stirling and more, and has a prominent place in the Battle of Bound Brook of 1777.

What did our founding fathers do for fun? The danced, of course! Come to the Van Horne House for free colonial dance lessons with HTA&#x27;s own Lazarus Turner. Mondays starting March 23rd, 2020, 7-9:30pmMarch 23rd, 30th, April 6th, April 13th. Geared for beginners and no previous dance experience needed. Bring your friends and family on April 18th from 7-10pm for a grand &quot;Publik Ball&quot; part of Battle of Bound Brook Weekend!
