This is an incredible opportunity to study two distinctive, but highly complementary sketching styles with internationally recognized artists.

Each instructor will limit their team to 15 participants, so you can sign up for Team Eric or Team Bill. The format for the three days will look like this:

TEAM ERIC - Fifteen participants sketch in pen, pencil and watercolor with Eric day 1 and pen & wash on day 2 with Bill.

This workshop will involve using various sketching techniques to improve the ability to perceive your subjects more thoroughly. Using pen, pencil and watercolor (separately and in combination), we’ll employ some fun exercises to expand your perception and open up some new avenues of creativity. We will be exploring rhythm and relationship drawing, working with masses and recognizing and connecting both positive and negative shapes.

TEAM BILL - Fifteen participants sketch in pen & wash with Bill day 1 and pen, pencil and watercolor with Eric day 2.

Bill's part of the workshop will be about developing a way to get pen & wash to paper sketching just about anything, anywhere and anytime by focusing on sketching small. A variety of techniques for doing this will be presented along with consideration of composition, perspective, subject matter and materials for working small. Please bring a check or cash for $50 made out to William Mancuso for a kit that he puts together for you for the workshops. The kit will have everything that you need - some of Bills colors will transfer to Eric part of the workshop. No supplies are required for his part of this workshop.

On the final day, in the morning, participants will work with their initial instructor once again. After lunch, Eric and Bill will work side-by-side from the same subject matter as both classes observe. Weather permitting, this final demonstration may take place outdoors.
