Collage Workshop
Overview
This hands-on collage workshop introduces participants to collage as an accessible,
expressive art form that combines found images into a unified composition.
Participants will explore both intuitive and intentional approaches to collage while
learning practical skills such as image selection, cutting techniques, and composition.
The workshop balances short demonstrations with ample studio time and discussion.
The session is appropriate for beginners through experienced artists and can be
adapted for youth, teens, or adults.
Participants will:
- Learn how to properly cut out images for clean edges and intentional shapes
- Practice composing with balance, contrast, and focal points
- Create multiple collages using guided prompts
- Experiment with personal materials, including old prints or artwork
*All materials provided, however participants are encouraged to bring old prints, or art if you'd like to collage your own art. Assortment of books, magazines, and cut outs will be available - you can always bring your own to share, use, or swap!*
