The Beat of Blossoms

Collage Sessions are creative process workshops guided by experimentation, improvisation, collaboration and giving. #makeriffmerge
With a small group of individuals, you will learn mixed media collage techniques, color theory, and collage/design principles. You will create art, and riff together on collective pieces. You will create at least two mixed media collages and leave with ideas for making more art at home.
WORKSHOP FOCUS: Watercolor-like Acrylics + Transparent Images
All art supplies are provided. However, you should bring a vintage photo or other interesting image with which to collage. You are also welcome to bring your own journal or sketchbook.

Collage Sessions is a SAFE SPACE.
The workshop is three hours and has limited seating. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session in order to check in and prepare materials. You will not be allowed to enter after 1:20 pm. All ticket sales are final.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? This event is for adults, 18 and older. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Car | Free parking is available in the ReCreative Spaces parking lot. | Metro | From the Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood Station on the Red Line, take Metro Bus 82 towards Mt Rainier or Metro Bus T18 towards New Carrolton. Why am I not allowed to enter the workshop after 1:20 pm? Collage Sessions workshops are guided by experimentation, improvisation, collaboration and giving. They are also safe spaces. The first part of each workshop is used to build community in which we can #makeriffmerge together. What is a safe space? Collage Sessions is a safe space. All individuals, including all ethnicities, gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, religions, and other identities, are welcome and will be treated with dignity and respect. No racism. No sexism. No homophobia. No transphobia. No xenophobia. ♥ What can/can't I bring to the event? All art supplies are provided. However, you should bring a vintage photo or other interesting image with which to collage. You are also welcome to bring your own journal or sketchbook. What is the attire? Come as you are. Aprons will be provided. Can I update my registration information? Yes, you may update registration information.
