Chicago Artists Coalition invites you to tear, rearrange, and mend your own collages in response to idioms inspired by our current show.
CAC invites you to tear, rearrange, and mend your own collages in response to idioms inspired by our current exhibition, All Is Fish That Comes to the Net during Chicago Exhibition Week!
All Is Fish That Comes to the Net brings together fragmented objects, inherited ideas, and materials displaced from their original contexts and reassembled into new ones. Viewers are invited to linger with the contradictions, misreadings, and unlikely connections presented to them and imagine the hand behind purposefully reimagining each object and thought. Rather than presenting fixed meanings, the works ask how observation and defamiliarization can be a transformative tool used in any creative act.
Join us from 4 – 6pm on Thursday, September 17th for a workshop led by currently exhibiting CAC Residents Rob Croll, Nick D'Alessandro, Taj Richardson, and Van Payne. All materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring a meaningful image or idiom to use in their collage.
RSVP required.
This event is FREE and open to the public. All are welcome!
All Is Fish That Comes to the Net runs from September 4th - October 15th, 2026.
