About this event

Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is an intervention model for children ages birth to 6 years who experienced at least one traumatic event and are expressing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems as a result. The treatment model integrates psychodynamic, attachment, trauma, cognitive behavioral and social-learning theories into a dyadic treatment approach designed to restore the child-parent relationship and the child’s mental health and developmental progress.

TRAINING DATES:

August 03rd, 04th, 5th, 6th & 07th 2022 Initial Training (five ½ days)

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

May 15th, 16th & 22nd, 23rd 2023 Booster ONE (four ½ days)

9:00 am – 12:30 pm

November 02nd, 03rd & 06th, 07th 2023 Booster TWO (four ½ days)

9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Training Fees: $2,500.00 per participant

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Participants must complete all components of the training series to qualify to be rostered as a CPP Clinician.

A CPP Implementation level course involves 18 months of training with three virtual didactic trainings sessions and twice monthly phone consultation for 18 months. In order to reduce Zoom fatigue and improve retention of didactic training materials, ALL Virtual CPP Trainings will have a half-day format. *Please see the dates and times above. Required reading prior to initial 3-day training: “Don’t Hit Mommy” 2nd edition. Recommended book “Psychotherapy with Infants and Young Children” (Books can be purchased on Amazon or Zero To Three website)

●Attend Initial Virtual CPP training (5 virtual ½ day Implementation Level Training)

●Attend 6-month follow-up (4 virtual ½ day Booster ONE Skill Building Workshop)

●Attend 12-month follow-up (4 virtual ½ day Booster TWO Skill Building Workshop)

●Provide CPP to at least 4 cases with children under age 6 who have experienced traumatic events.

-Treat at least 2 cases for a minimum of 16 sessions post the feedback session

●Attend a minimum of 23 bi-weekly consultation calls (34 Calls will be provided) during 18-month period

●Present at least two times on consultation calls and/or Skill Building Workshops

●Participate in and have access to CPP reflective supervision (group or individual) at agency

●Access to internet and a computer to log onto the virtual trainings so that participant is visible on screen

CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION:

Certificates of completion are emailed the week following each of the individual Virtual CPP Training events to registered participants in attendance.
