Collaborative Co-Parenting Group Program

Collaborative Co-Parenting Group Program

Overview

A parenting program to build understanding, navigate differences and support your child’s unique needs.

Two Day Program

Saturday 7th November 9am - 1pm

Saturday 21st November 9am - 1pm

Parenting is one of the most rewarding journeys we can take, but it can also bring challenges, differences and moments when we feel unsure of what to do next. Even when we both want the best for our children, we may have different ideas about how to support them, set boundaries and respond when things get difficult.

This warm, supportive group program invites parents and co-parents to move away from blame and towards greater understanding, connection and collaboration.

Together, we will explore how our own childhood experiences, values and expectations shape our parenting, while developing a deeper understanding of our children's unique strengths, developmental profiles and support needs. With a neuro-affirming approach, we will explore why children can have very different strengths and challenges, how executive functioning and emotional regulation influence behaviour, and why children may struggle with expectations even when they understand what is being asked of them.

Across two half-day sessions, we will explore practical, evidence-informed approaches to:

  • Understand our children: Recognise their strengths, individual differences, developmental needs and the skills they are still building.
  • Look beneath behaviour: Move beyond labels such as “naughty” or “defiant” to understand what might be making things difficult for our children.
  • Respond with connection and confidence: Support emotional regulation, set clear and compassionate boundaries, and navigate challenging moments together.
  • Work as a parenting team: Understand different parenting perspectives, communicate more effectively and develop shared approaches to everyday challenges.
  • Build skills and independence: Explore collaborative problem-solving, accommodations, adjustments and strategies that help children thrive.
  • Reflect, repair and care for ourselves: Learn how to reconnect after difficult moments, recognise our own triggers and build realistic ways to support our wellbeing as parents.

This is not about being a perfect parent or agreeing on everything. It is about developing a shared understanding, recognising what each parent brings to the family, and discovering new ways to support our children and one another.

Because children do well when they have the skills, support and understanding they need - and parents deserve that understanding, too.

Come as you are, with curiosity, compassion and a willingness to learn together.
