Awakenings provides survivors of sexual violence with a trauma-informed, inclusive art-making experience that encourages healing.We believe the power of art-making as healing is amplified when we integrate into a creative community. We help survivors of sexual violence heal through art by providing year-round art workshops, storytelling events, and more at our studio space in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. Our programming allows survivors to connect with each other through communal, healing arts activities in a safe, trauma-informed environment.

Awakenings

Awakenings presents a free presentation sharing the creative expression of our artists in residence who have been delving into creating art from a perspective of healing. Artists Gillian Marwood, Leah Huskey, and Raeleen Kao will show what they&#x27;ve worked on in the residency and talk about their process.The presentation will be held on Friday, February 25th, at 6pm CST. Proof of vaccination and mask wearing is required for entry to the gallery. Also, if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 please stay home and visit us online.
