Welcome to the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Nightmares in Children (CBT-NC) event!

Date: Fri Jun 21 2024

Time: 10:00am-2:30pm (Central Daylight Time)

Join us for an informative online session where we will discuss and practice effective techniques to help youth ages 5-17 overcome nightmares using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This event is perfect for healthcare professionals looking to learn more about how to support youth struggling with nightmares. Treatment uses components of CBT-i for insomnia, mindfulness, imagery, relaxation, exposure, and rescription in a manualized five-session modular, progressive approach. It is appropriate for sleep specialists wanting to learn child-friendly adaptions of the adult treatment, and for child providers wanting to learn how to treat nightmares and associated sleep problems. This is NOT a trauma-focused treatment.

Don't miss out on this valuable opportunity to gain insights and strategies to help youth get a good night's sleep. All attendees will be given access to the child and caregiver workbooks that we use for treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Are CEs available for this event

CEs are only available for psychologists located in Oklahoma. We are not able to offer CEs in other states/countries. There is a $20 suggested donation to TITAN for CEs.

Will I have access to CBT-NC materials after this event?

Yes! You will receive a copy of the child workbook and the caregiver workbook, and PDFs of all forms that are used in therapy. This is no extra charge. You will have permission to reproduce these for your client sessions, but not to copy/share with other providers.

Is this treatment evidence based?

yes! you will learn more about this during part 1 of the workshop. It is based on a well-established treatment for adults and research with youth is promising. The presenter has been researching the treatment since 2010 and believes it is now ready for dissemination.
