Coffee Summer Camp

Welcome to Camp Wannacuppacoldbrew!

Have you ever asked your barista what the difference between a latte and cappucino is? Or if they have a low-acid brew? Maybe you think "strong" coffee has more caffeine.

Then, this course is certainly for you. While we won't answer those questions*, we will tell you more important things like where coffee comes from and how it gets to your cup every day.

At our five-week Coffee Summer Camp you'll have the chance to deepen your coffee knowledge, identify different types of coffee by taste, meet new friends and go away with a cool party fact every week!

We are not coffee snobs, just fun coffee professionals wanting to share the good Word with you so that you too can make good buying choices at the supermarket and understand the fragility/complexity of the industry you rely on every day to get you through.

What we'll cover - Come every week, come one week. Just learn something new!

Week 1 (5/30) - In the Beanginning - Origin of coffee from 9th Centruy Africa to today

Week 2 (6/6) - Robussin - Identify Arabica v Robusta plant varieties

Week 3 (6/13) - Natural Does Not Mean Organic - Coffee processing methods

Week 4 (6/20) - Roasting Beans - how to insult your coffee - light, medium or dark?

Week 5 (6/27) - Not So Fair Trade - Critically thinking about ethical labels on coffee bags.

*Just kidding, we will answer absolutely any question you have!! Cat poop coffee? Robusta? Caffeine levels? We have opinions on it all.
