Coe Trouser Workshop

This class will be in person at Capital Fabric Supply at 63 Broadway in Kingston, NY

Date & Time : 10 - 6pm, Saturday June 20th & Sunday June 21st (purchase includes both days)

Cost : $240, pattern included, students are responsible for purchasing their own fabrics (including main, pocketing and fusible) notions and trims (including zipper, button and threads). Sewing machines and belt rings provided.

We will also be providing lunch from Rosie General, menu and orders will be requested ahead of time.

Experience Level : Intermediate or above, must be comfortable and have experience using a home sewing machine. You should also have sewn garments previously and be comfortable working from a sewing pattern. See further requirements below.

The Coe Trouser

The Coe is sculptural but not stiff, relaxed but not sloppy, just undeniably cool in that "I bought these at a store you haven't heard of" kind of way. It's high waisted with a side seam that wraps slightly forward, giving the leg its unique shape. They go with everything because they are everything. The main character in an otherwise quiet outfit and the reason you'll finally stop buying pants you secretly hate.

If you've been looking for a reason to come enjoy a long weekend in the Hudson Valley this is it! Join us for a mini weekend retreat at Capital Fabric Supply where you'll leave with a well fitting and finished pair of Coe Trousers!

Intermediate or above welcome; please come with knowledge of and experience in using a home sewing machine, working from a sewing pattern and experience sewing zippers (fly construction specifically not required). There will be time dedicated to checking fit as we sew but note that we will not be covering fitting in depth in this workshop. We will use the straight stitch for construction and topstitching and overlock to finish the seams.

We recommend either bottom weight fabrics of at least 10 oz for a sturdier look or you can try your hand at linens or light weight twills, 5 - 6oz, for a drapier more summer appropriate silhouette. Fabric yardage should be purchased and pattern cut out by participants beforehand. You can come slightly earlier to use our table to cut if needed but please note that space is limited and this pattern will likely take over an hour to cut out properly.

We have a wide variety of fabrics to choose from that come in different hues and colorways. We offer a 10% discount for those participating in the workshop.

The pattern will be sent via email 10 days before the first class.

Cancellation Policy : It can be very difficult to fill a cancelled spot in such small groups though we understand life happens, people get sick, things with kids arise, etc. Please read this policy thoroughly before booking as we will not be able to make exceptions as a small, independently run business.

If you can, please provide at least 72 hours notice so that we can try to fill your spot. You will receive a gift card of the purchased amount that can be used towards future workshops or in store purchases.

If you can not provide 72 hours notice or you do not show up to the workshop, you will not be eligible for any store credit.

PARKING

Parking on Broadway is metered while parking off Broadway on side streets is free so we suggest the latter.
