Welcome to Coding One-on-One with Darilyn’s Consulting Firm!
I am excited to announce that Darilyn’s Consulting Firm will now offer monthly Coding Exam Prep Classes designed to help you prepare with confidence.
These sessions will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams on Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM and will run as a three-week course. The cost for the full session is $100 per participant.

Payment Information:
All fees must be paid via Zelle to Instructor Darilyn Johnson 817-391-2238. In the subject please put Darilyns Consulting Firm Classes. Payments are due two weeks prior to the class start date.
Required Materials:
Participants must have the following books before the class begins:
- 2025 or 2026 CPT
- 2025 or 2026 ICD-10-CM
- 2025 or 2026 HCPCS
- NAHP (National Association of Healthcare Professionals) Online Practice Test & Hardcopy Exam Book
These materials can be purchased directly from the NAHP website. Books can be purchased on Amazon if you don't have them. If you need to know what they look like please send an email for additional assistanc.

Understanding Medical Billing & Coding
Medical Coding is the process of reviewing medical documentation such as physician notes, lab results, and patient charts, and assigning the appropriate standardized codes. These codes come from classification systems including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) for procedures, ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases) for diagnoses, and HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) for medical supplies, equipment, and certain services. Medical Billing uses the codes assigned by medical coders to create and submit claims to insurance companies, government programs, or patients. Medical billers ensure that claims are accurate, submitted in a timely manner, and followed through until payment is received. They also handle insurance verification, payment posting, claim corrections, and patient billing inquiries.
