LevelUP IRL is a Chicago Makerspace committed to helping young people level up their skills in real life by MAKING to Learn and LEARNING to Make. We offer after school programs, summer camps, workshops, mobile pop-ups, and community activations. We are also the home of the Chicago Knights Robotics. LevelUP Robotics, and 3PO robotics teams.

Coding is for more than websites. Learn how to develop embedded code that can bring you joy without being connected to a computing Device.

<p> During the session, teens will learn to develop programs for the micro:bit microcontroller (a computer smaller than a credit card). Start with blocks based coding and create as many projects as you can in the 60 minute session. Afterwards, you can continue learning on your own to complete more online projects or recreate them using text-based Python. This highly customizable session is suitable for beginners and intermediates (you move at your own pace). You will need to access the internet from a computer, phone or tablet. The computer will need a Chrome or Edge browser. If using a phone or tablet, make sure you have access rights and space to download free apps.</p>
