Join <a href="https://flatironschool.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Flatiron School </a>on Saturday, August 10th for a one-day coding workshop that will expose you to the basics of front end development, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Throughout the day, you'll have an opportunity to build a project from scratch with support and feedback from our instructors and your new coding friends! By the end of the day, you will leave with something you're proud of, tools for continued learning, and the building blocks to create a website!We understand that learning software engineering can be intimidating and overwhelming. If you've ever tried online tutorials but keep getting stuck or been to study groups that feel too rushed, this event is for you! Through guided lecture, group projects, and community learning, our instructors will thoroughly walk you through the core languages that make up a website.You will get to spend the day on our Flatiron Campus inside WeWork and learn about student life. You’ll get exposed to our program, community and culture and how to start your career in tech!. Lunch will be provided.FAQ:1. What should I bring?You will need a computer and charger for this class. It does not matter what the operating system is as long as you are able to access the internet through a browser. Please reach out to anna.cohen@flatironschool.com ahead of time if you need to borrow a computer for the day. 2. Where do I park?We are a 5 minute walk from the 38th and Blake stop on the A-line. There is plenty of free street parking if you choose to drive. There is also a paid garage below our building.3. When time should I get there?Please arrive by (9:45am) on Saturday morning to register and get settled.4. I’ve already practiced some code, will I still benefit from this course?Some parts may be a review as this course is designed for people who are brand new to code. That doesn’t mean that those with some experience aren’t welcome or will not benefit from it.5. I’ve never coded before in my life, will I be able to keep up?Absolutely! We structure the day to accommodate as many skill levels and learning styles as possible. We’ll have instructors, TA’s, and support staff on hand to ensure no one falls behind :) Have other questions?
