Coding Art Makeathon

What is a makeathon?

A makeathon is an event where children have fun and learn by creating things together.

In this makeathon, small groups of kids will create art with code. They will work collaboratively on an artistic challenge, with the help of an experienced coach.

We will use the programming languages Scratch or Snap so that the computer draws for us and creates amazing images for us. Here are some examples of the kind of art that can easily be coded:

Who can participate?

Every child from 8 to 12 years old can join, and groups of friends are very welcome.

Languages spoken will be English, French and German.

No prior experience with coding nor art is needed. Beginners will learn a lot by doing, and so will kids that regularly attend a code club or makerspace!

Price: free

This event is free for all participants, including drinks and maker materials, thanks to Coding4Kids, the joint partnership of BEE Creative & Code Club.

10:30 sign-in & creative briefing
11-12 brainstorming
12-13 lunch
13-16 coding
16:00 show & tell

Kindly drop off your kids at 10:30 and leave them in our care.
Please bring a picnic bag for lunch.

Parent’s most important task is to come back for the closing ceremony at 16:00 to admire our creative output :)
