CODHER Intro to Programming with Ruby

Codher is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to educate, inspire, and engage women in technology.We want to diminish the perceived barriers facing the IT industry and make it accessible for those who are interested in learning, building and networking.Through workshops and community support, we aim to equip women with skills, insight and hands-on experience so they can test their skills and build confidence in pursing a career in web development.

WHAT IS RUBY? According to www.ruby-lang.org, Ruby is a dynamic, open source programming language with a focus on simplicity and productivity. This language is behind many popular sites, such as Twitch, Kickstarter and AirBnB. It was invented in the 90's specifically to make coding a joyous experience, which is why it’s an excellent language to learn with.
Ruby is not to be confused with "Ruby on Rails," which is a web application framework written in Ruby.
This workshop will teach you another angle in learning coding. Through a couple of lectures and a series of challenges, we’ll take you through the first steps of your Ruby coding journey. And as usual, we have our kickass mentor team by your side whenever you need a little guidance.
The workshop is designed to scale with your skill level, so that both total beginners and people who attended previous Codher workshops will feel challenged and learn something.
 
___________________________________________________________________________________________ LOCATION This workshop will be held at Microsoft's amazing domicile in Kongens Lyngby, 15 km away from Copenhagen city center. To get there, we highly recommend to take public transportation (S-train lines A+E northbound) as car parking is limited at Microsoft.

Tickets are sold individually. Please order for each participant.
Materials: Please bring your own laptop. Codher will provide training materials and internet connection during the workshop.
Refund Policy: Cancellations 7 days prior to the event will be fully refunded. Cancellations less than 7 days to the event as well as No-Shows will not be refunded. Workshop cancellation by organizer (Codher) will be fully refunded.
