A free way for kids to learn to code in the Kansas City area. Mentor-powered and technology-driven. We are run by Kansas City Women in Technology. Our mentors are from companies all over Kansas City, includingCerner, Emfluence, The Nerdery, VinSolutions,andVML.

SPECIAL SESSION CHANGE: This session will be part of the Kansas City Kid's Conference, located at the Kansas City Convention Center.
<A HREF="https://coderdojo.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CoderDojo</A> is a global non-profit created to help youth learn to code. <A HREF="http://kcwomenintech.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kansas City Women in Technology</A> founded and runs the Kansas City chapter. No expenses will be involved in joining the KCKC event; We will send details for this special session via email. All programming skillsets are welcome, from beginner to expert!

<LI>All ages will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver. Children aged 7–13 require a parent or guardian to be present during the session.</LI>

<LI>Parking: street parking around the Convention Center, as well as in the parking garage under Barney Allis Plaza. We will likely have some garage validation tickets on hand, but cannot guarantee how many.</LI>
<LI>All skillsets are welcome! Those with advanced knowledge will be assisted in creating more advanced projects.</LI>
<LI>Events sell out quickly, but please join the waitlist. We will open additional spots the week before the session.</LI>
<LI>Please be respectful to the leaders, mentors, and volunteers. They donate their time and energy to make this program possible.</LI>

FAQs: 
Q. How old does my child have to be? A. Children aged 7–17 are welcome and will need a parent or guardian to sign a permission slip. Children aged 7–13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the entire session.
Q. This session is sold out! What now? A. Sign up for the waitlist. We have a lot of cancellations throughout the month, so you'll likely be able to attend. Watch your inbox for when we open additional spots.
Q. How long are sessions? A. Sessions are normally 3 hours long, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on the second Saturday of each month. Doors open 15 minutes early to account for sign-in and set-up. This special session is 4 hours long, from 10am to 2pm. However, we will split the session into 2 parts: 10am - 12pm, for ticketed attendees. The second half will be for students who wish to continue working or for unticketed KCKC attendees to join us. You are welcome to explore the rest of KCKC after the first half if you wish.
Q. How much does attendance cost? A. Attending CoderDojoKC sessions is free, thanks to our volunteers and sponsors.
Q. Where are sessions held? A. Sessions are normally held at the <A HREF="https://plus.google.com/103931629712353467437/about?gl=us&hl=en" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Google Fiber Space</A>, located at 43rd St. & State Line Rd. This special session will be part of <A TITLE="Kansas City Kid's Conference" HREF="http://www.kcdc.info/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kansas City Kid's Conference</A> at the Kansas City Convention Center: 301 W. 13th Street, Kansas City MO 64015.
Q. Do I need to bring anything? A. Yes, your child should come with a WiFi-enabled laptop. We have a limited number of laptops availble on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q. Do I have to stay with my child for the sessions? A. If your child is aged 7–13, your presence is required throughout the session. All parents and guardians are welcome to stay in a special area provided, so feel free to bring work or entertainment for the duration.
Q. If I'm staying, do I need to register myself as an attendee? A. No, registrations are for children only. Please do not register yourself as an attendee.
Q. Does my child need prior programming knowledge to attend? A. No, children can learn from the ground up.
Q. My child is looking for more advanced development resources. Will they still benefit from attending? A. Yes, many of the mentors are experienced developers with advanced skills and understanding of more difficult concepts.
