Location Details

All events are taking place at The Linc (formerly known as Lincoln Village), 6406 N. I-35 Frontage Road, Austin (near Middle Fiskville Road and Chase Bank). On the east side of The Linc (facing I-35), there is a tall sign along the southbound frontage road that reads “Pop Up Here” right in front of the section of The Linc where we’ll be.

What is the Sound Check?

This is a critical milestone for CodeNEXT. Writing a new land development code is all about preserving and creating great places in Austin. Before putting together a draft code, however, City of Austin staff and Opticos Design, the lead consultant, need to test proposed code standards in a variety of places to make sure they create land development regulations that implement the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan. Imagine Austin, unanimously adopted by City Council in 2012, seeks to create people-friendly places where people of all ages, cultures, abilities, and incomes can safely and easily access their daily needs within a short trip.

During the week, we invite you to check out and comment on the testing in a fun, informative, and relaxed atmosphere with food trucks, music, kids’ activities, and more.
