Where can I park?

Free parking is available on campus. We recommend parking on the 3rd floor of the parking garage to access the walkway that leads directly to the event space (student center on the 3rd floor).

Question 2

Will there be food available?

Coffee and snack vendors will be providing items for sale on the 3rd floor where the event is. Additionally, MDC's Gordo Cafe on the 1st floor will be open until 4pm and will have full lunch menu items for sale.

Question 3

What is the age minimum to attend the workshops?

Accepted Answer

We recommend students be at least 8 years old and have basic keyboarding/computing skills.

Question 4

What materials and preparations does my child need to attend the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Workshop participants must bring their own laptop. If siblings are attending together we recommend they code on their own laptop. (Limited laptops will be available to check out for students who need it.)

How can my student participate in the coding competition?

Accepted Answer

Code/Art's runs 4 annual all-girls coding competitions: CodeYourSelf (National), Animated Art (National), Game Design (National) and ChangeMaker (South Florida). Students may submit an entry until February 11th, 2025. Free to enter.  Learn more at code-art.com/compete

Will there be Teacher workshops

Yes! If you're an Educator please head over to code-art.com/codeartfest/educator to register. Teachers must register to be eligible for stipends and certificate of completion.

Question 7

I can't attend in person, will there be online sessions?

Code/Art's closing ceremony consisting of a keynote and awards ceremony celebrating all competition finalists and winners will be broadcasted live on our Facebook and YouTube channel.

Question 8

Do you have any perks for bringing a group of students?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please email info@code-art.com if you're planning a field trip with a group of your students. We're offering free t-shirts and waived workshop fees (while supplies last).

Question 9

Can I attend the coding workshop with my child?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Parents can sit in the additional seating toward the back of each classroom. There will also be plenty of seating areas outside the classrooms. Please note there will be a parent panel session from 11 am - 12 pm near the workshop rooms that we encourage all parents to attend.
