A small group of students and faculty work closely to explore the intersections of code, design, hardware and theory — focusing especially on artistic intervention. School for Poetic Computation (SFPC) an independent school for art and technology, based at 155 Bank street, the Westbeth Artists’ Housing in New York City. SFPC’s motto is “More Poetry, Less Demo!” and we invite you to SFPC Code Societies Student Showcase, where you can participate in artistic experiments, enjoy unexpected surprises and be inspired to start new collaborations. This showcase is an open studio, a chance for our community to observe the students’ journey of “code societies” and see their works in progress. Our students spent 3 weeks thinking critically about how code shapes the societies we live in. Come meet our amazing students, celebrate their hard work and hang out<a href="http://sfpc.io/code-societies/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Code Societies</a> centers understanding technology as social and the social as political technology. We will engage with code, and the ways code acts on our bodies and networks equally as subject and as medium.
