Mentor Graphics A Siemens Business is organizing a Code Retreat on September 1, 2018. The meeting will be facilitated by Venkat Subramaniam.
Date: September 1, 2018
Time: 9AM to 4PM
Agenda:
Code Retreat: 9AM to 3:00PM (Lunch will be provided by Mentor)
Talk: 3PM to 4PM
Seating: Limited to 14 attendees (please register only if you will attend)
Fees: Free of charge.
Requirements:
Please bring your computer, if possible, with your favorite IDE installed to write code.
For security and for WIFI access, we need your mobile number and email id. Please bring your photo identity card with you and please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time to have enough time to clear through the shared security at the campus. 
Code Retreat: The code retreat will be a series of pairing sessions repeated through out the day. We will pair to solve a problem, discuss about what we learned, add some constraints, then pair with someone else to improve and share our learning. You don't have to be an expert nor a novice. The only requirement is that you are eager to learn and to share your knowledge with others who are there.
Talk: The Art of Simplicity by Venkat Subramaniam
Abstract for the talk: We've been told to keep things simple. It turns out, that's easily said than done. Creating something simple is, well, not really that simple. If simple was sitting next to us, would we even recognize it? Is my design simple, is yours simple? How can we tell? That's a simple question, but the answer to it is... well come to this talk to find out.
