Code Red is a collective and co-powering organization that works to promote period wellness and de-stigmatization through literacy, aid, and advocacy. Growth within our organization has led us into focusing more on community and collective care. We desire to work towards dismantling inaccessibility and lack of intersectionality when it comes to period wellness specifically in the menstrual rights activist sphere. Code Red Collective is us introducing a new era: decolonizing wellness and discussing period wellness in people of color communities. This event is an opportunity to stay educated and connected with other POC wellness initiatives and programs in the NYC area and engage on an intimate level in open dialogue around the subject of period wellness. 
What’s your take away? Imagining a world in which our collective wellness is centered and envisioning it is important to overall individual wellness. Through our event you will have an opportunity to engage on an open platform to speak up, share stories, and connect with POC. This will be an open space to break stigma to educate guests on general facts surrounding POC and period wellness.

Lina - Session: MALIKAH: Self Healing Workshop |  12:45PM
Bio: A peace corps recipient and a recent graduate from NYU with a degree in Psychology. Lina Mohammed has trained over 50 women in refugee camps from Greece to Lebanon by giving them the power of their voices and self-healing.
 
Lubnah - Session: Sustainable Menstruation Info Session |  1:00PM
Bio: Lubnah is passionate about studying the intersection between women's public health and sustainability, and developing innovative solutions for the pressing problems that women and the environment face today. In her free time, you will find her coloring, watching Netflix and making films.
 
Nairobi - Session: VĪV: Survivors Create Truth Workshop  |  1:30pm
Bio: Nairobi is a work in progress and currently in the middle of transformation. She enjoys community organizing & connecting folk for the purpose of art and activism. She spray paints the pain away and can be found under the Free Fro Podcast anywhere podcasts are available
 
Sarah - Session: Yoga Session for Period Cramps|  1:50pm
Bio: Sarah Thomas is a genderfluid, New York City based vinyasa yoga teacher and performance artist. In addition to teaching core and pelvic floor awareness focused classes at multiple studios, she is the creator of Tomcat Yoga and Publishing, a yoga company that combines the principles of yoga with art therapy techniques in order to encourage a strong mental health routine.
 
Shulin- Session: Guided meditation: PMS Relaxation|  2:10PM
Bio: Shulin Zhang is the Founder of Bhumi and a Columbia University student of the class of 2023. Bhumi prompts sustainable lifestyle through everyday practice and meditation. Bhumi Solution provides sustainable supply chain and strategic solutions to businesses.

Our Partners, Operation Period and AASW, created a COVID-19 emergency relief fund to distribute 28,000 menstrual products to frontline healthcare workers and marginalized communities like homeless and low-income people at the end of the month.
