FREE Saturdays-only bilingual coding workshop where girls will create a website, be certified coders, and have professional skills.

Code Chica, presented by Latinitas and Dell<ul><li>Classes will be held Saturdays only from September 5th to November 14th from 10AM to 2PM)</li></ul><ul><li>(Exception: No class will be held on Saturday October 10th in order to not coincide with our one-day national conference, StartUp Chica "Nacional")</li></ul><ul><li>This program is FREE, and upon completion of the program, students will receive a $75 stipend and a certificate outlining their accomplishments.</li></ul><ul><li>Este programa es GRATUITO, y al finalizar el programa, los estudiantes recibirán un estipendio de $ 75 y un certificado que describe sus logros.</li></ul>This event will be hosted online. Si usted no tiene acceso a una computadora o internet, por favor contáctenos para poder ayudarle.While enrolled in the Code Chica Certification Program, students will:- Be placed in a vibrant cohort of students that are eager to learn the essentials of HTML, CSS and Javascript to create their own portfolio-ready website- Come eager to learn from industry professionals, and gain valuable networking experience to assist them in the college application processInformation about the camp:- Dates: Saturdays Only from September 5th to November 14th, 2020(No class on Saturday October 10th)- Class from 10am-2pm online- This program is available to high school girl-identifying and trans/nonbinary students between 8th and 12th grade.- Students may not miss more than one class for the duration of the program. Students must be present for all class days (with the exception of one excused absence) to receive the stipend.Students will work together with instructors and guest speakers that currently work in computer science, engineering, technology development, and more, and will learn fundamentals of Javascript and website building, along with higher order functions and more, to create their own website!
